One of the common excuses that people make for not launching their business is money. They look at their financial situation and say I don’t have the money to – or they look at their business idea and say that cost too much money to attempt. Either way they are making a classic mistake that has far too often kept brilliant people from doing brilliant things in the world: They use labels instead of asking a question.
They label themselves and their situation: broke, no money, lack of funds, can’t afford it, I’ll never, I can’t… And then they line up their lives according to the labels. Creating boundaries for their dreams and their lives.
If you are there – if you’ve been labeling your situation with excuses as to why you can’t start your business or why you can’t move forward with the next idea you have – I challenge you to start asking questions instead:
- “How can I find the money for…?”
- “Who can help me generate funding for…?”
- “What can I do to raise capital for…?”
- “Who can I barter with?”
- “How can I increase the salary from my day job?”
- “How can I reduce my expenses, so I can save more?”
Asking better questions will start you thinking and dreaming. It sets an expectancy for the things that you need to show up. Combine that with a practicing a positive attitude and setting intentions and you are now doing the work required to receive what you need to pursue your purpose and passion.
Today’s affirmation focuses on setting a positive attitude about your finances:
Opportunities for financial growth continue to come my way.
My heart is filled with gratitude for what I have. I am blessed because I can manage my finances responsibly. I work hard to meet my family’s needs. When things get tough, I work harder and smarter. I have a positive attitude about my financial future.
My attitude has placed me on the path of constant increase. The more I give, the more I have to share. I freely share my ideas and I am excited to share my gifts with the world through my business. Rather than being someone who seeks to take from others, I look for ways to give others a chance to invest in me.
From increasing the income from my day job to cutting back on my spending, there is no sacrifice I wouldn’t make to invest in my purpose and launch my business. My goal is to explore all options to fund my part-time business so I keep my eyes open for ways in which I can increase my income.
I educate myself by doing research on the latest ways to grow capital to fund my business. I attend seminars and workshops to find out ways in which I can make my money grow. Most importantly, I am active about networking and building relationships with people that have a positive and healthy approach to money.
The relationships I build result in opportunities for financial growth. When I overcome shyness, I am free to initiate conversations with others to tell them all about my skills. Taking that courageous first step is opening doors for me because people are interested in what I do.
Today, I choose to speak up about my abilities without fear because I have a lot to give. My boldness sparks interest and draws opportunities for financial growth to continue to come my way.
1. How can I increase my income?
2. How can I build my network to include more financially savvy people?
3. When was the last time I initiated a conversation about my skills?
