It happens every year. As we get closer to the end of the year I start to think about all the things I wanted to accomplish at the beginning of the year and start comparing that to what I actually got done. Some years, I get excited about all of the goals I reached. Other years, I look back and wonder where the time went.
Whether you had planned to go back to school for an online accounting degree or you were planning to get out of debt, it is always a good time to reflect on your goals for the year.If this is one of those years where time seems to have gotten away from you and you find your self dissatisfied with your progress, remember that one small step is all that’s required to make progress.
Be not afraid of going slowly, be afraid only of standing still. – Chinese Proverb
Today’s pep talk focuses on valuing each step you take that moves you forward – no matter how small. Forward movement is progress. You may not have gotten as much done as you wanted, but rest assured that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
I work towards launching my business one step at a time.
“One step at a time” is my mantra. It enables me to build a profitable business and overcome any challenge. I am confident in knowing that each step gets me closer to the success I am purposed to have.
When I choose a goal, I take the time to make an action plan to reach it. My plan for going from employee to entrepreneur consists of a series of small steps that lead to my ultimate success. It’s like having a customized roadmap for launching my business!
Some of the steps needed to launch my business are so small they can be reached in less than a day. Even though my plan may be comprised of lots of small actions, I trust that by taking one step at a time, I will reach my destination.
When it looks like a challenge or setback is on the horizon, I take a deep breath and remind myself, “One step at a time is all that’s required.” This mindset helps me remain positive and look at challenges from one angle at a time. This enables me to find a way to go around it, overcome it, or use it to my advantage.
Having a “one step at a time” mindset brings me patience and peace when I need it. And it helps me stress less and stay confident. I am calmer and more accepting of challenges that arise when launching while working because I realize that I am always just one step away from my next success.
Today, I honor my pace, cherish my journey, and celebrate my progress.
1. Have I made an action plan of small steps that lead to my goal?
2. How can “one step at a time” help me overcome my current challenges?
3. What can I do to remind myself to use this mantra daily to get me where I want to be?
